The train previously left once a week, and the wait between the day cargo was collected and the day it departed sometimes stretched to six days. Adding a second departure brings that wait down to about two days on average.
Transit on the route is now 18–25 days. Compared with the sea option that is roughly twice as fast, and compared with air freight it is more than three times cheaper.
The new schedule matters most to customers working with seasonal stock: it makes production planning more precise and lets them hold less inventory.
